I believe it is the responsibility of all boarders to respect the positive traditions of this great Boarding House. Take comfort in the knowledge that every boarder at Mt Erin Boarding House has an unequaled opportunity to learn. Choose to spend your time wisely - find those things you are passionate about and pursue these interests with great vigor. Above all make the most of those opportunities available to you - get to know your peers and forge life-long friendships that will stand you in good stead, now and into the future. Learning to live in community is a vital skill and research teaches us that boarders develop close friendships and values, such as resilience, tolerance and independence, often much earlier than others who are not given the same educational opportunities. Living at school offers many advantages - time that would otherwise be allocated to travel can be better utilized, enabling boarders to be fully engaged in their schoolwork, sporting endeavors and other co-curricular activities. Our boarders have access to academic support from a selection of academic staff who are available throughout the day and in the evenings. My message to all our boarders is: An incredible and exciting adventure awaits you at Mt Erin Boarding House - get involved, enjoy all that is on offer, make the most of this amazing opportunity to engage in a challenging curriculum in an incredible setting.

Mt Erin Boarding House provides students from the Riverina and beyond with the opportunity to complete their Catholic secondary school studies in Wagga Wagga. The Boarding House is incorporated into Kildare Catholic College and seeks to continue the long and excellent boarding tradition established by the Presentation Sisters at Mt Erin Boarding School. The Boarding House at Kildare provides weekday boarding  for girls and boys in Years 7-12 attending either Kildare Catholic College or Mater Dei Catholic College.

For transport to and from home each weekend, there are four boarders’ bus runs travelling via Adelong to Tumut, via Temora and West Wyalong to Lake Cargelligo, via Darlington Point to Griffith and via Bethungra to Cootamundra. This allows students from these areas to continue their Catholic education through to Year 12. There is also transport available on normal school buses to Lockhart, Galore, The Rock, Gundagai, Junee, Tarcutta, Coolamon, Ganmain and Marrar.

Town transport operates daily from the boarding house to Mater Dei in Lake Albert for those students choosing this option. Boarders attending Kildare have just a short walk to the College located on the same grounds.

There are periods of supervised study each evening and there are tutors on hand to assist boarders with their homework and assignments.

The Kildare Catholic College Resource Centre is open from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and may be accessed by all boarders.

During the school week boarding students are able to attend music lessons, orchestra practice, sport and sports training and practices for College productions. Transfer to and from these activities is provided by the boarding house vehicle. The boarding students also enjoy the use of College facilities such as the swimming pool, basketball courts and the new multipurpose hall.
